Distance Learning Center

In alignment with the University of Science and Technology’s mission to disseminate knowledge and foster scientific advancement, and in response to the rapid evolution of information and communication technologies (ICT), the University established the Learning and Distance Learning Center. The Center is committed to activating digital systems and educational resources by providing electronic platforms, interactive courses, and comprehensive digital learning materials. These efforts support faculties and academic departments in achieving the effective and systematic integration of ICT into education and training processes.


The Center is devoted to creating a supportive and innovative environment for distance education and the meaningful application of ICT in teaching and learning. This objective is achieved through the implementation of advanced learning management systems, the development of interactive and learner-centered courses, and the production of high-quality electronic content and digital resources designed to enhance engagement for both students and faculty members. Additionally, the Center designs and delivers educational and training programs that support e-learning and continuing education initiatives for public and private sector institutions, as well as for individuals beyond the University community.


Objectives of the Center

The Center seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Manage and supervise distance learning, e-learning, and electronic training initiatives across the University.
  2. Promote the adoption and effective implementation of distance learning applications in accordance with established quality assurance standards.
  3. Develop and maintain an interactive electronic learning and training environment accessible through the University’s official online platforms.
  4. Support the development of academic courses and their conversion into electronic formats, and assist in their publication and delivery.
  5. Create, update, and maintain digital courses that are accessible to students and researchers.
  6. Provide continuous professional development and training for faculty members and students to enhance the effective utilization of e-learning technologies and services.
  7. Deliver remote and electronic training programs aimed at improving students’ digital literacy and technological competencies.
  8. Adopt internationally recognized educational and training programs and promote awareness of global professional certifications and their significance.
  9. Organize meetings, conferences, workshops, and seminars that contribute to the advancement of e-learning and distance education.
  10. Establish cooperation with international organizations, institutions, and relevant authorities in the field of e-learning and distance education.
